Life in Use

Life with the things we choose

Life in Use and I längden are sister publications about technology and everyday life. We are interested in what happens in practice: what people need to do themselves, the conditions that change an outcome and what becomes visible over time.

The publications were founded by Carl-Gustav Öberg. Research is shared; language and practical context are adapted for each audience. The same source material is not presented as two independent investigations.

What you can read now

Our first investigation compares documented offline behavior across six smart-home setups. The research guides explain how to read experience reports and why an offline feature needs a precise question.
