Life in Use

Privacy

We use first-party counts to understand which pages people use and whether reports are useful. Fonts and scripts are served with the publication. There are no advertising pixels, analytics cookies, persistent visitor IDs or email signup forms.

Our database stores daily totals by page, event, a short list of source channels and an automation classification. Events include a page opening, 30 seconds of visible reading after interaction, a source opening, an expanded ownership episode and an optional first- or return-visit answer. We do not store individual event records, IP addresses, full referrers, user-agent strings or URL queries in this database.

These are activity signals, not verified people or unique visitors. Repeat readership is known only when someone chooses to report it. Some automated requests can escape detection. Counts older than 90 days are removed when we collect or retrieve the totals; no visitor profile is created.

Our collector respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Hosting services still receive technical request data needed to serve the site. External source sites have their own policies. Following RSS does not submit an email address to us.

Have you visited us before?

Optional. Your answer helps us understand return readership without identifying you.
